I stopped by in the afternoon on Wednesday to ask Jerry about her lunch with Glenna. She said she had a good time and was glad that she went. She seemed happy that day.
Jerry is so sweet! It was my Birthday on Wednesday to and she called me to tell me Happy Birthday! She even told me she got me some flowers and a card! She said she picked out the color of the flowers because “I thought that color looked like you.” The Birthday card was the sweetest card ever! What a special day. Thanks Jerry! :)
She called me early Friday morning and said she didn’t want to go to the Senior Center; she was upset and she didn’t want to put me out. I told her she wasn’t putting me out and I was planning on taking her. We ended up going and I’m glad we did. It was fun singing, and at lunch we sat at a table with a couple of men and one other lady and visited. They were all telling jokes; it was funny and made us laugh. When we got back to her house, we went over the monthly calendar/schedule from the Senior Center. She seemed excited over some of the activities there are to do. (She put the calendar on her fridge if someone wants to check it out.) I circled the activities that she was interested in.
(There are pictures on photobucket if you’d like to check them out.) ----->

I talked to Jerry about the lunch she missed on Wednesday. She said she would try it again next week. When we got to the Senior Center, there was a man sitting outside on the bench and she said “Hi, you’re a cute fella.” Victor wasn’t there again today and everyone was saying “He must have a girlfriend.” Glenna came out to the Senior Center today too, she even stayed for lunch. They talked afterwards and Jerry will be going to lunch with her next Wednesday the 14th.
(There is one picture of Glenna, Robynne and Jerry on photobucket.)

Jerry was supposed to go to lunch with Glenna today. They were running a little late to pick her up. I called her and let her know. Meals on Wheels came and she ate that instead. Glenna really wanted to take her out. Hopefully she will next week. I’m sorry she missed it; I know she was looking forward to it.

September 2, 2011

Jerry missed Glenna today at the Senior Center. Victor wasn’t there either; everyone seemed to be at a loss without him. There was a performance in the dining room so they sang songs for a bit then left early to watch a man sing on stage. Jerry said she really liked to have someone singing while she was eating. She thought it was ‘nice’. He was a good singer too. At one of the other tables there was a mechanical kitten; we went to look at it when Jerry was done eating. It was a white kitty named Snowball, I think. He moved his head, closed his eyes, meowed and raised his paw and rolled over to sleep. Jerry thought it was cute. One of the other ladies daughters bought it for her. After I dropped Jerry off I got a call, her friend Glenna wants to take her out to lunch next week. We set it up for Wednesday :) (She asked me to tell Mandi “I love her. She calls me every day.”)
(There are 2 pictures on photobucket) ----->

Friday, August 26, 2011

Jerry was glad when Glenna showed up at the Senior Center today. They didn’t sing in the dining room like they normally do at the end of the month. They said it was “Payback.” No one came to support them from their Senior Center when they sang at Columbus Senior Center. That’s too bad. We sat at a table with 3 men at lunch. We walked out with one of them to see his dog. He had a really pretty dog; I think it was an Eskimo dog or something similar. He had pretty blue eyes. On the drive home Jerry told me she bought some eye shadow. When we got to the house I helped to show her how to put it on, she said she wasn’t sure (Good ole QVC.) Pepper misses her when she goes. She mentioned that Mandi called her yesterday and told her something like “We just love the pictures of you, don’t ever have her stop.” :)

Friday August 19, 2011

Jerry got a haircut the other day. It looks nice :) The lady that cuts her hair also cuts the lady’s that plays the piano at the Senior Center (Mary). They got to sing a log of songs today and sounded really good. She ate lunch there today and visited for a bit. When I took her home, I visited with her and Pepper. Earlier When I asked her how her week was and what she had been doing she said she had been out working in the yard. It’s a nice big yard; I’m glad that and Pepper keep her busy.

Friday August 12, 2011

Since Tuesday was such a big day, Jerry doesn’t want to go over to the Senior Center on Friday. I don’t blame her, it was a long day. I will be out of town anyway, so it worked out good.

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

Today was the big day! 10 of the Senior Centers in the valley all met at Columbus Senior Center. Each group sang 2 songs. I guess someone didn’t call to reserve our spot for the Mt. Olympus Senior Center group. They passed out programs and Mt. Olympus wasn’t on it! They ended up singing last. I got a video of their songs. I took lots of pictures too :) They had 2 men telling jokes between each group. There were really a lot of people there. It was a good turnout. They had cookies and punch after wards. Glenna, Jerry’s friend drove with us and when we dropped her off at her house we went in to look at her quilts that she has made. It was a pretty long day! They had a good day, but it was long and tiring for them, but fun to see the other groups. Jerry even went and bought a new white blouse :) (Everyone was supposed to either wear white or red shirts. One of the ladies (BB ) her husband made them all hats with flags in them to wear while they sang.)
Head on over to photobucket and check out the video and pictures :) ----->

Friday, August 5, 2011

I forgot that today the Senior Center was having another program. We sang the songs that we will be singing on Tuesday for our program and then left early to go see the program in the dining room. It was so cute. :) A couple with the band name “One More Time” were performing songs from the 30’s 40’s 50’s and 60’s. I took a video of a couple of them. The first one we saw was of Sonny and Cher “I got you babe” It was really fun to watch. I told Jerry that I took a video of a couple of them and she said “Oh good, I was hoping you did, the kids will get a kick out of that.”
Glenna is going to be dropped off at Jerry’s on Tuesday and we will go out to the other Senior Center and perform with all the other groups. If any of you can make it let me know and I can give you the address! The performance starts at about 1:30.
Jerry is going to go over to Glenna’s on the way home to see her quilts that she has made. She’s looking forward to Tuesday.
There are 3 videos of today on photobucket. One if the songs was "Blue Suade Shoes" the other is "Life is a Cabaret" and the last one that I took was "Put on a Happy face." (I'll try and put them on facebook for those of you that can't see them on photobucket. If I can't do it there, I'll figure something out for you.)

Friday, July 29, 2011

We were both tired today. Jerry looked nice; she curled her hair for today. Since it’s the last Friday of the month, they sang in the dining room before they ate lunch. Jerry wanted to stay and have an extra cup of coffee. There was a couple that were dancing and Jerry said “I wish I could take dance classes.” She was saying how Bud thought it was a waste of time, but not her. We met a man named John and talked to him for a bit. All the computers were being used so we weren’t able to get online at the Senior Center. I set up my computer in her living room when we got home. I thought I’d give it one more try, it’s so hard to get a connection at her house. I wasn’t able to show her the videos from last week :( but she did see the comments made on the blog. We are going to start going over earlier so she can check out the blog and facebook. She said she was happy I was doing this but sad that she couldn’t see.
Everyone have a good weekend!

I had a problem uploading the pictures and videos, but they are on photobucket now! :) ----->

Friday July 22, 2011

We stopped in the room with the computers first so Jerry could look at her blog and pictures on facebook. (I came over on Wednesday to show her pictures online and I couldn’t get on long enough. She did see Mandi’s consignment store though.) At the Senior Center today it was the biggest crowd we have seen there. After they sang we all left early to go in the dining room. They had a group there that were playing the banjo, guitar, piano, violin and harmonica…Get this! A song came on that Victor wanted to dance too and he asked me, I asked him to ask Jerry to dance, she was reluctant at first but then she got up and danced with Victor! It was so awesome! I got a video of it too! :) I really didn't think she would. Now I know better ;) Later she was saying how fun it was and if he asks her again, she will go out and dance. She said she hasn't danced in years and knows you will all love the video. She was talking about the Senior Center and said “I like it; it’s something to look forward to.” She really likes all her new friends she has there.
(There are pictures and videos of Friday on photobucket. You will love these!) ----->

Saturday, July 16, 2011

When I picked up Jerry, we were talking about our weekend and our week; she mentioned she asked Carol to go with her to the Senior Center and that Leslie came over, but “That was all.” I was telling Jerry I went to Eden to watch a soccer game. She said laughing “You go to some of the strangest places.” Jerry had a fun time at the Senior Center today. Her friend Glenna came and she was happy to see her :) Another guy Jack is really a jokester and was making her laugh, and of course Victor (The great singer) makes her amazed at how many songs he knows. “He’s the best singer.” Glenna will be coming to lunch next week :) and the Songbirds talked about their program in August, where all the different Senior Centers get together and sing their songs, we practiced the ones we will be singing. I took pictures of Jerry and her friends and she said “I’m glad they will be able to see all my new friends.” Jerry didn’t want to have lunch at the Senior Center today and on the way out gave Glenna a hug. It was a good day! (I’m going to stop by probably on Wednesday to show her the pictures and so she can see her blog.)
(There are 6 pictures and one sideways video on photobucket.) ----->

Friday, July 8, 2011

Today we went to the Senior Center. I didn’t come over on Tuesday because Jerry had plans with her sister. We had lunch after wards, Jerry said she hasn’t been very hungry lately but she did have a little bit of lunch. I guess I will be coming over just on Friday’s now. I hope she has a good weekend and a good first part of the week.

Friday, July 1, 2011

I can’t believe its July already! I hope everyone has a fun 4th of July weekend. Today they let us pick out our own songs. They let us decide to go up to the music stand to lead the song; Jerry got up today and led everyone in her song. She told me after wards that she was nervous about getting up there, but she wanted to do it :) She did a great job. Today at the Senior Center they had a band playing in the dining room. We left a little early from the room we sing in to go and see them. I even danced with Victor (He’s one of the singers in the group.) I thought he asked me on his own, come to find out, when Jerry was getting her lunch she went over and told Victor that I wanted to dance so he came over and asked me. Sneaky Jerry ;) They are planning a similar thing for the 24th of July and also something in August. The dining room is always full when they have special programs.

Friday we decided to go to the mall for lunch and people watching, we figured it would be a nice cool place to be in this hot weather. We went to Fashion Place Mall. Jerry said she hadn’t been there in “Ages.” We had lunch at The Great Potato (I think that’s what it’s called.) After we ate we went into Bath and Body Works or the Body Shop (One of those) and Jerry bought some stress relief lotion. We walked around a bit then found some chairs and sat and people watched. “Some people” We saw some interesting people at the mall. It was fun to talk and just see other people and kids. Jerry got a kick out of the little kids that were there. We looked at jewelry at one of the kiosks. Fashion Place is getting to be a big place with all the other stores that will be coming in.
(There are 2 pictures on photobucket of today.)

Friday, June 24, 2011

Today we went to the Senior Center. I didn’t realize it was the last Friday of the month already! Jerry sang in the dining room today, not a lot of people were there today. Next week it should be a good crowd, they are having a 4th of July luncheon. It will be July 1st next Friday! Jerry is feeling better this week. Joe and the kids were cleaning up the back yard today too. Jerry appreciated that. I hope she has a good weekend!

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

I just added 2 pictures of today and 8 from last week (photobucket wouldn't let me add last week, they were having maintenance.) Click on the link to see them :) ------->
When I came over today Jerry was ready but thought Leslie was coming today to take her to the Dr’s. She will go tomorrow. I told her that I brought some salads again today so that we could go to the Murray Amphitheatre and listen to the music while we ate lunch. When we got to Murray Park we walked over to where the music was supposed to be and kept waiting to hear the music…when we got there, there was no music! There were people setting up for a play tomorrow. I was looking forward to taking Jerry to this. It’s just my luck though. It WAS scheduled for today. There was a pond by the amphitheatre with lots of ducks that we looked at. Jerry said “I just love to look at the ducks.” We took our lunch over to the same place we went the other day cause it was shady. Jerry said “I like to sit and listen to music while I’m eating” Sorry Jerry :/ She brought the potato salad that Sherry (sp?) made “I just LOVE her potato salad.” We talked for a bit then we went to Murray Cemetery and Eligian Cemetery after wards. I got to see where the Walton family is. She mentioned that she would like to drive to Ogden to see Mandi. (She mentioned again how much she liked the couch and the chair that she saw at the consignment store.)

Friday, June 17, 2011

Jerry said she didn’t feel like going out today. Her mouth has been hurting her. Leslie came over while I was there. After we talked, Jerry decided to go out; we told her it might help take her mind off of it. I’m glad she did decide to go, there was a big crowd singing today. She liked the songs and the company. They were also having a Father’s Day program. We went in the lunchroom after we were done singing and watched a guy play the saxophone, sing and play the keyboards. It was a big crowd in the lunchroom today too.
Happy Fathers Day this Sunday to all of the Dad’s :)
(I wasn’t able to take pictures today, I forgot my phone) :(

Tuesday June 14, 2011

So today Jerry wasn’t expecting me, she thought I was coming over on Monday, she even had her lunch ready to go. We were going to listen to Swing n’ Jive music at the Murray Amphitheater today, but her back isn’t feeling good so we just took the lunches that I brought over and sat at a park bench and had lunch at Murray Park. She was telling me that there was a place that she used to always go. “Dalleen would paint the kids’ faces and I’d make potato salad and the guys would drink beer.” She showed me where that was and said “You should take a picture of that” So I did :) after we were done with lunch, she wanted a flag for her yard. Today is Flag Day. We went to the dollar store and found a good sized flag; she bought 2 of them and some blue sunglasses. “Blue is my favorite color.” When we got back to her house I helped her put the flags out in front. We will try for next Tuesday for the amphitheater. I wrote it on her calendar to remind her.
There are 7 pictures on photobucket of today. (Well, it seems photobucket is having 'site maintenence'. I'll post the pictures as soon as I can.)

Friday, June 10, 2011

It was a nice day today. Jerry had fun singing with all the songbirds, it was a big group. She said she likes "To sing all the old songs." There were a few people that were there that hadn’t been there for awhile. It always makes it fun when there are more people. Jerry ate at the Senior Center today and after lunch we got on their computer and checked out her comments on her blog. (Thanks Mandi) :)
(There is one picture on photobucket of some of the other members of the singing group)

Tuesday, June 7, 2011

Today when I came in Jerry mentioned she had an appointment at 3:30. We talked about the weekend, and then she decided to go to Wendy’s to get something to eat before her appointment. (Her homework from Perrine Anderson is to walk Pepper every day.) When we were driving to Wendy’s we saw a home consignment shop and went in there after wards. She saw a rocking chair “Like my Grandmother used to have. We used to sit outside and have tea.” We saw some really neat furniture and she LOVED the leather chair she saw. She said “Bud would have just loved that chair!” We went to her appointment and afterwards scheduled another one for 6 weeks. We made it on a Tuesday so I could go too. “We can’t go on Friday.” ;) When we got home, both doors were locked, and she didn’t have a key! She was smart enough to get a screwdriver in the garage and we opened a window so I could crawl through. At least now we know how to get in if that happens again.
(Before I came over I was checking online about plays at the Murray Theatre. Jerry had mentioned she liked plays. I called them and they don’t have any during the day time hours except on Saturday. The Murray Amphitheatre has concerts during lunch time. She seemed really interested in that. We missed the one today, but next week we are planning on going there and taking a lunch. Should be fun. :) Today was jazz music and next week is Swing N’ Jive. They are having them a few days a week all summer long.)
Pictures are on photobucket of today.

Friday, June 3, 2011

We both were feeling a little tired today. Jerry was tired and said she had a hard time waking up. I needed to leave early today so we just went to the Senior Center so she could sing. The lady that she met last week, Glenna, showed up and she said she would like to come every week. Jerry tried to call her before today but I guess her phones weren’t working. It was a nice and warm day today. We'll do more next week. :)

Thursday, June 2, 2011

OK so I finally got the video from last Friday along with a couple pictures from that same day and the pictures of Tuesday up! I couldn't do it in blogger, so they are in photobucket. Head on over to the photobucket link and click on "My album" to see them in order. ----->
Tuesday May 31, 2011

It was finally a nice and warm day today :) We talked for a bit about the weekend. Jerry said she had a nice time with her family and going to all of the cemetery’s to visit the grave sites. We were taking about cars at one point (I think it was because it was Jessie’s BD?) I told her she should have him take her for a drive. “Oh, he’d take me for a drive all right.” I guess he drives fast. We stopped off at Iceberg and got a shake to take with us to Wheeler farm. We ended up staying and sitting outside, we got some fries too. Jerry said “Next time we’ll have to get more.” We went to Wheeler farm and looked at the sheep, cow’s horses and ducks down by the pond. It was a nice day and a nice walk.
(For some reason I'm still not able to upload images. I'll add them when blogger will let me.
I have skype on my computer, if any of you do too or want to install it we could always do a skype session too. All you need is a web cam) :)

Friday, May 27, 2011

It was singing in the dining room on stage day! :) Jerry said she was nervous, I told her it was just like all the other times and she didn’t need to be nervous. She looked nice today too. :) We found out that in June they won’t be using their singing books, Hmmm I wonder what they have planned. After Jerry was done singing, she had lunch and met a new friend, Glenna. It was her first time there and we were both talking her into joining the Song Bird group. I hope she comes back; she seems like a nice lady. Glenna gave Jerry one of her business cards so hopefully she will call her. I’ll remind her ;) We stopped by Murray cemetery after wards. I was saying what a nice cemetery it is and she was telling me that Bub LOVED Mt. Olympus and thought it was pretty neat that he faced it. She was happy that somebody put a flag on his grave site. We stopped at Brian’s grave site too. She told me that she tells him good morning every day when she wakes up. She didn’t want to take any flowers; she said she would probably be going back this weekend with her family. She had a good day today.
(I'll add a video on photobucket. It's kind of shaky, sorry. Jerry is on the back row on the right hand side. I will also add a couple pictures on the blog. It's not letting me right now :( )

Tuesday, May 24, 2011

Today ended up being a nice day! When I came over, we talked about her weekend and checked out her blog for comments. She called Thelma, but she wasn't home. She said she needed to reorder checks, I did that for her and then she said she needed to go to the bank. After we went to the bank we went to ihop and had ‘breakfast’. She said she liked it. Afterwards, we went to Murray Park (We’ll take the stairs next time. We were going down a small hill and she ended up slipping, we saw the stairs after that). We walked around the park, sat on a park bench and looked at the clouds and talked about all the memories we had at the park and memories we both had when we were younger. She was telling me when she was younger, she and her girlfriend would hop the train and that her Dad would get so mad. “Oh the things we used to do.” When we were looking at the clouds, she mentioned one of them looked like Bud looking down at her. She used to go to the park with her sisters and with her kids. “They used to have a carnival that was so much fun.” It was a nice day and when I was leaving she said “Thanks for the wonderful memories Jody.” I thought that was really nice. She said she will eat at the Senior Center on Friday. She will be singing in the dining room too. J
(There are two more pictures on photobucket. One of Jerry and one of the cloud that she said looked like bud).

Friday, May 20, 2011

Jerry didn’t want to have lunch at the Senior Center today. After she was done singing, we went and used one of their computers so that I could show her the comments made on her blog from last week. She said she liked the picture of her in Terry’s truck :) She was happy about the comments too. They were having a 'yard sale' in one of the rooms; we looked at that for a bit. We went to Anna’s Café after wards for lunch; she said she really liked it. We stopped on the way home to feed the ducks but they didn’t want anything to eat. L It was kind of a rainy day and the clouds were dark and scary. When we got home, we visited for a bit and played with Pepper and her new toy she got the other day.
(There are 3 more pictures on photobucket. It's the top link to the right of the blog.)

Tuesday May 17, 2011

It snowed today! After a weekend of 80 degree weather, it rained and snowed! Anyway, today we just visited for a bit, talked about the weekend and went through the coupons I brought over. We looked at the calendar of activities and Jerry wanted to go and get ice cream. I had a coupon I'd been saving for Farrs; I know she likes ice cream. We drove up there and got ice cream. We were the only ones there; go figure ;) we went to TJ Maxx after wards (She said she had never been there before). We looked at jewelry; she said they had a lot of pretty earrings. She bought Pepper a new toy :) she said "He'll like it cause it squeaks." We came home after that, it was raining again.

Friday May 13, 2011

Jerry was ready as usual when I came over to pick her up for the
Senior Center. She mentioned that Cork had put up pictures today; we'll check them out later :) It was so cool today, everyone got to pick their own songs and when it came to Jerry's turn, she got up in front of everyone with her song that she wanted, and sang it at the music stand :) too cool! Especially when she told me she doesn't like being in front of people. She did awesome. She had lunch after wards there and then we got on the computer in their computer room and looked at all kinds of pictures and her blog to check for comments. It was a really nice day. Really warm too.

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

I forgot to mention yesterday that Jerry wanted to thank Dalleen for the beautiful card. She really appreciated it.

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

If you notice, to the right of the blog I've added a new link. It's called photobucket.com. If you click on this link you will see more pictures that I haven't added onto the blog. (Sometimes I take too many to add all at once). This way, if there are extra pictures you will be able to see them on photobucket. I will let you know at the end of the posts if there are more pictures on photobucket. If it doesn't take you directly to the site then type in lllJodylll as the user name and photobucket as the password. :)
Today I got to meet Terry. He came over with his truck, what a cool truck! He had it personalized for both his Dad and his father-in-law. Very cool Terry :) He said “We’re the
hillbilly’s from Spring lane.” Ha ha…Jerry said she had a nice Mothers Day
, she said she got some beautiful flowers from Cathy. Jamie got her something to eat. She wanted me to tell April and Jennifer “Thank you for the beautiful Mothers Day cards; they were very beautiful. Thank you Thank you very very much. Grandma loves you very much; you’re my special grand daughters.” Ryan-“Grandma loves Ryan very much. He lived with his Grandma while his Mom worked. He was a very good boy, he went on a mission and I’m very proud of him.” We looked at her blog and the comments made on it. I showed her the coupons from the Sunday paper that I brought over. She said “Me and my grandma used to sit on the front steps and drink coffee.” We went to the store after to pick up some curlers and she even got some new earrings. We went to Wendy’s afterwards. She wanted to tell everyone- “Let them know how much I care, ALL OF THEM."

Saturday, May 7, 2011

Jerry was ready to go when I came over; she looks nice. J The songbirds are practicing new songs to sing at the end of the month. They sang until and then went to the dining room where they were having a Mothers Day program during lunch. Each Mom received a flower when they went inside the dining room, (Jerry even went and got me a flower too. Thanks Jerry!) She said her flower was her favorite color. A gentleman was singing while they all had lunch. It was a nice program and Jerry had a good time listening to him sing and talking to the other ladies there. It was nice of the Senior Center to hand out flowers.
I hope Jerry has a Happy Mothers Day this weekend!
Happy Mothers Day to all the Mom's :)

Friday, May 6, 2011

Hi, I just wanted to let you know, I'll post todays blog either tonight or sometime tomorrow.
Thanks

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

Jerry was washing her curtains when I came over today. She mentioned she wanted to go and get new ones. Meals on Wheels came while I was there at about ; I guess that’s later than usual. When she was done eating I showed her the comments on her blog. (She’s waiting for pictures to be put on there). We went to Kmart to get some new curtains for her kitchen windows, and then we went to cash her check that she got for her Birthday. We stopped and then we fed the ducks on the way home (We brought some bread with us) Jerry said “We should have brought a half a loaf.” When we got home, we took Pepper for a walk around the church. Friday we will go to the Senior Center. I’m glad she’s willing to try again J

Friday, April 29, 2011

Happy Birthday Jerry! I called Jerry to tell her I was on my way, she told me she was going to take me to lunch after we went to the Senior Center, I told her I would take her to lunch since it was her Birthday she said “No, I’m taking you, and that’s just how it is.” When I pulled up at the house, Jerry came out and was ready to go. Her hair looks nice today! She said she had been ready since ! She also mentioned that she received 6-7 Birthday calls already. When we got to the Senior Center they ended up only singing for a half hour and they had empty chairs, so I sang too. She said she didn’t want to go anymore because it was a waste of time. It was my fault, I should have gone earlier for her to practice and sing a little more before they went in the dining room to sing. I hope she will continue. She wanted to go to brunch at Dee's. We had brunch there and I drove her home so she could watch re-caps of the Royal wedding. (She said she would finish her banana cherry shake today).
Have a rest of a Happy Birthday and a Happy Mothers Day too!

Thursday, April 28, 2011

Tomorrow is Jerry’s Birthday!! :) I came over today because she was going to go to lunch with her daughter on Friday. She was washing her hair when I came over, and told me she called her daughter and said she wanted to sing at the Senior Center tomorrow. She changed her Birthday lunch to Saturday. I helped her set her hair; she wants to look nice when she sings :) we visited for a bit too. She will be singing on stage with the other song birds tomorrow, she seems excited.
(She mentioned that she liked the idea of the Royal wedding being on her Birthday). I will be coming over on Tuesday’s and Friday’s.

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Today the weather was crazy! When I came over we talked for a bit about the weekend and how she was doing. She mentioned she got to go and see Thelma. It was sunny before we left and then it got to be overcast, then it snowed and was sunny again, then snowed. We went to a pet store to ask about some dog chews for Pepper. We went to Rite Aid and picked some up. On the way home, we stopped and looked at the ducks "like we used to when you kids were little" When we came home Jerry was looking at the comments on her blog and wanted me to add “I hope the kids had a Happy Easter”. She wants Dalleen and Corky to “Get on the ball and get something going”. She wants to see pictures on her blog ;) ("Send pictures of your little girls", she hasn't seen them in ages, "Tell them Grandma loves them very much") Jerry wants to know “Where did you spend Easter at? and did you have an Easter dinner?” and “How’s about sending a picture of your cabin so we can see what it looks like.” Jerry said the kids were excited when they got their Easter baskets! “We decorated them so cute.” “It reminded me of the time you kids were little and used to go outside and have an Easter egg hunt.”

Today we went to the Senior Center and sang with the songbirds, I sang with Jerry this time. There was an Easter program going on in the dining room area, they all wanted to go to that for the rest of the singing time, we watched that for just a few minutes, they had cake and were watching and listening to someone play the piano. Jerry didn’t want to go in the dining room because the food tastes like Meals on Wheels :/ Next week when she sings, she will be up on the stage in the dining room. We went to lunch at Iceberg today instead of at the Senior Center, it was a nice day but still too cool to sit outside. When we were done with lunch we went back to her house and finished some Easter ‘stuff’ at her house. (I'll post pictures after Easter) I showed her the comments made on her blog, they made her smile.
Happy Easter!

I called Jerry today to let her know I would be there this afternoon. She wasn’t sure that she wanted me to come over because it is raining so hard. I told her I would call her back this afternoon. It will probably clear up by then and if not I can go over and show her the new pictures I added to her blog, and I can also bring some games that we can play inside. We talked about me coming over on Monday and Friday mornings and see how that works. I think it should work out pretty good. While I was there Corky called! It was so nice to finally sort of meet him after hearing about him from Jerry. We talked for a bit about the blog, nice guy. Now he will be able to add things to it too if he wants. We even got on facebook and added John (Corky) and Dalleen as friends. Jerry was giving me all kinds of names to look up. It was fun. Friday we will be going to the Senior Center to sing with the songbirds. I’ll sing this time too :)

Friday, April 15, 2011

It was Jerry’s first day singing at the Senior Center with the songbirds. Quite a few people showed up, it was fun. She knew almost all the songs. She said she had a good time. They asked if she wanted to get up and sing a song but she didn’t want to. (I don’t blame her, its hard getting up in front of others, especially when you don’t know them). Next week they were talking about wearing Easter hats while singing, but Jerry’s not into that. We had lunch at the Senior Center afterwards and then went to Dollar Tree to find things for Easter

We Match :)
Today Jerry needed to go to Walmart to pick up a few things. I showed her some ads I found in Sunday’s paper for Easter ‘stuff’ at Shopko. We went to Shopko first and while we were there, she found a teal purse that she really liked. She bought a red one instead and then when we left she was saying that she wished she would have bought the other one. We turned around and went back and traded the red one for the teal one she wanted. She was so happy to get it. It was the last one too! It started to rain but earlier it was a nice day. We went to Walmart and then back to her house. We talked about me coming over on Friday mornings so that she can go to songbirds at the Senior Center. (It’s a singing group that sings once a week and performs once a month). I showed her the goat (I forgot his name, I think it’s Walter?) that her grand daughter has, it was on her grand daughters family blog.

It ended up being a nice day today after snowing over the weekend. When I came over Jerry wasn’t home, is she trying to avoid me ;) just kidding. Where are you Jerry? I stayed for a little bit and waited for her, but she didn’t show up. I went over to Carol’s but she doesn’t answer the door. I looked everywhere and even drove around the neighborhood. I hope she is at bingo or doing something fun. I’ll see her on Wednesday, hopefully. ;)

It snowed today. Jerry went to lunch with Jamie and Joe. When I came over it was snowing pretty bad, I showed her the blog and the comment that was made on it from her grand daughter. She was SO happy to see that. She thought the pictures of ‘kener4’ were really cute. She read her blog from the beginning to the most recent one. She thought it was really ‘neat’. She said she just loves it. :) We just visited for a little while today. She got an Easter card from Sarah and John and was really happy to see their pictures.

Today when I came over, Jerry was no where to be found. She came home after I had been at the house for a few minutes. Sheri had taken Jerry to go to the store. After she left, we visited for a bit then we went for a walk with pepper. We walked over by the elementary school, it was SO windy. We sat down at the benches to get out of the wind. (Of course later on after we got back it wasn’t as bad). I asked Jerry if she used to take her kids out for picnics there. She said yes and that they used to climb the trees. She said this is a “Nice place for a picnic”. John (Corky) called while I was there; he was telling Jerry he gets a kick out of reading what she has been up to. His grand kids are in Hawaii! “Must be nice”. I think on Friday we will either go see Thelma or go to the craft store to make something for Easter. (I finally got a picture of her today). :)

Jerry wasn’t sure what she wanted to do today. I had her look at all the activities that she had written down to see if she wanted to do any of them. She said she needed to go and get some water for her oxygen. I mentioned going up to the Senior Center to see if they had any late afternoon activities first. They really don’t have a lot for later in the day. She seemed interested in the ‘songbirds’ on Friday at . It’s a group that sings together and then performs once a month. She said she likes to sing and to sing along with others and that she likes activities. We went for a drive up to the mountains afterwards. It snowed over the weekend and it looked really pretty. She chose to go up little cottonwood canyon. She was saying how she used to go hiking with Bud when she was younger and was mentioning how pretty the mountains were, and how much it had changed since the last time she had been up there. We went to Walmart after wards to get her distilled water. She saw Leslie at the store too. She is taking Jerry to get her hair done tomorrow!

Friday, April 1, 2011

I met Cathy, Joe and Jerry’s great grand daughters today. :) We visited for a bit then Jerry’s grandson Jessie stopped by with his friends to take the truck.
Jerry wanted me to hear it when it started. She wanted to go to the zoo today but when I checked the times, they close at ; we probably would have gotten there just as they were closing. I asked her what else she would like to do and she wanted to go to the cemetery and then to the craft store. We went to Hobby Lobby and she bought some blue flowers and some blue butterflies, she really liked them. We came home and she arranged them in a vase. She said “If you had a lot of money you could sure buy a lot in that store.” She was saying that her daughter arranges flowers.

Jerry had a Doctor appointment today. Her neighbor took her to the appointment and to the store after wards. When I came over, she was wearing her oxygen. She told me that the Dr. wanted her to wear her oxygen all the time because she was really low. She was waiting for someone to come and fill her portable oxygen tank. We talked for a bit and filled out her calendar. We made a list of things to do on the days I come over; she planned almost all of the activities! She “Loves to shop”. She was telling me about at Christmas time Bud used to repaint old bikes and make them look brand new. She also said her favorite holiday is Valentines Day, when I asked her why she said “Because that’s Bud’s Birthday”. I was telling her that it was almost April Fools day and the things I used to do to my parents. I told her I was going to do something; she laughed and said “Don’t do anything too drastic.” ;) She called her sister, we were going to go and see her today but I don’t want to take her without her oxygen. We will go on Friday. She called Carol and she called her brother. I left early today. Hopefully she will get her oxygen later tonight or tomorrow.

Jerry told me last week that she wanted to go to Bingo today with her neighbor Carol at the Senior Center. She didn’t call her to go, so maybe next Monday? I’ll have Jerry call her when I’m at her house so she can plan it. She did mention going over there to see if she was home, she didn’t answer the door. Jerry even came back and called her but she didn’t answer. Jerry called her sister, we were going to go see her today but she won’t be home. (She mentioned her sister came over to see her yesterday and she misses her). She called her back and we will go and see her on Wednesday. Jerry mentioned going for a drive around that area, I’m glad she did. I got lost out there I couldn’t find the address her sister gave her. We stopped at the Murray Cemetery on our way out to her sisters. After our drive we went to the store to pick up a few things. She bought a cute little dog with bunny ears for her Grand daughter. :) She told me she likes dogs and has a bunch of them.

Saturday March 26, 2011

Today was a cold day. Jerry was watching QVC when I came over. We watched that for a few minutes. She mentioned that Meals on Wheels didn’t come today. She decided she wanted to go to lunch at McDonalds. After lunch she decided she wanted to go to Macy’s to walk around and just look. She got tired but we did go for a good walk. When we came back to the house, I got my computer out to show her the other blog I have and then explained how it works, and how other people out of state or others that just want to look and see what she has been doing will be able to see. :)  She said she wanted it to be a blue background with a picture of Pepper. She said “You can mention on there if you want that I like QVC”. (She doesn't want pictures of her on here until she gets her hair done).

Friday March 25, 2011

Jerry was ready to go today when I got there. She wanted to go to Walmart to pick up some dog food. She picked up a few more things then we went back to the house and talked for a bit and then took Pepper for a walk. It’s so cute when he stands up and waves his paws. We walked around the church by her house. She was talking about when she used to be a crossing guard, her kids and school. She was really appreciative; it was nice to hear :) she’s a sweet lady. I left a few minutes early. Walking around Walmart and taking Pepper for a walk wore her out. I asked her to think of something she wanted to do tomorrow.

Thursday March 24, 2011

Today was my first day with Jerry. We had a good talk today. We went to get something to eat; she mentioned Meals on Wheels didn’t bring her enough food. She wanted to go to Gringo’s. After we had lunch we went up to the Senior Center to get a schedule. We took the schedule home with us and went though it and she found bingo on Monday’s. She suggested going with her neighbor. On Thursday’s they have a program to help kids read, she seemed interested in that, I think we will do that next week. We talked about things she likes to do and made a tentative schedule for next week. She said she likes to go for walks too. She showed me some of her pictures in her album. Claudette came while I was there; it was nice to meet her too. I’m looking forward to taking Jerry out.
